Regi Widmer grew up in South Africa and Switzerland. She always loved to draw and to invent stories. As a child she wanted to become a storyteller, fly to Mars or paint like Rembrandt. Instead she first became a primaryschool teacher and a globetrotter. Then she studied design and art at the Lucerne University, where she graduated in illustration fiction in 2010. Today she works as a freelance picturebookmaker and is often on reading tour in schools and librariesWhen she has time, she likes to sit under trees, listen to the birds and sketch. She lives in Muttenz near Basel with her family.
